Easy Digital Downloads License Free Download

Customers who purchase one licensed product through License Free Downloads are eligible to receive one or more licensed products completely free of charge. The administrator of the store is the one who decides which items can be obtained free of charge with a specific transaction. Easy Digital Downloads must be extended with the Software Licensing module in order to support License Free Downloads.

Product Settings

Find the metabox that’s labeled “License Holders Free Download” and edit the product that you want to make available for free to people who already have a license for it. Activating the Free Download and selecting which licensed products will provide free access to this product can be done in this window.

Create the Interface

You have to include the [edd_lfd] shortcode on the website for that product if you want other people to be able to download the product for free. [edd] stands for “edd-low-fee download.” When editing the product, you need to make sure that you paste the shortcode into the content section.
