SearchWP Co-Authors Plus Integration

Co-Authors Plus is a plugin that was developed and is maintained by Automattic. It enables you to declare multiple Authors for the material that you create. With the help of this plugin, many authors will be indexed and searchable.

After the extension has been turned on, go to the Advanced tab of the SearchWP settings screen and do a reindex after you have completed the process of rebuilding your index.

While the index is being rebuilt, you will notice a number of new Custom Fields in the SearchWP options menu for each post type. Each of these new Custom Fields begins with the prefix coauthorplus_.

By default the extension will index:

• user_nicename
• display_name
• nickname
• first_name
• last_name
• biography

Moreover, there are individual entries for each one of those, but the extension also combines all of those fields into a single custom field called coauthorsplus_any, which you can use if you want to match any of those.

After the index has been reconstructed, you will be able to conduct a search using the Author data that is specified by Co-Authors Plus. If you conduct a search for data related to a configured Author, the results will not include the Author archive or a User profile; rather, it will return the post(s) made by that author.
