The wpDiscuss User and Remark Mentioning feature makes it possible to refer to specific users or comments within a comment by employing the #comment-id and @username tags, respectively. It has a Member Search box, allowing you to locate and tag any user or guest in a very straightforward manner. In addition to that, it shows the #ID of each remark so that you may tag them. Email notifications will be sent to the authors of any comments or users that have been referenced. This plugin substitutes avatars for the @author and #comment-id attributes of links. When you hover over links marked with @author and #comment-id, a pop-up window with information about the user and the comment opens.

• Make sure the comment rich editor is turned on, then type user nicknames followed by the @ symbol. This will cause an automated search for users to be performed, and it will propose your user for mentioning.
• When a comment is published, the person who was mentioned in it will receive an email informing them that their name was referenced in another user’s remark.
• This add-on displays the @username tag on comments as a link on the comment list, and when the mouse is moved over the link, a pop-up window appears with the referenced user’s avatar, name, and other information. In addition, when you click on this link, it takes you to the user page.
• The button will be added to the upper right corner of each remark. It shows the current comment ID so that it may be easily copied and pasted into the comment, for example #17. This will be recorded as a notice in the comment thread.
• After #17 has been put in a comment, the comment’s author will be alerted via email that his or her comment has been acknowledged in another comment.
• On the comment list, comment number 17 will turn into a link, and when you move your cursor over it, a pop-up window will appear with the comment text and the comment author’s details. Additionally, clicking it takes you directly to the genuine remark.
• This addon provides options to control, as well as activate and disable, all of the aforementioned functions and components.
• Through the backend setting page, you have the ability to modify the content of the emails titled “Comment Mentioning” and “User Mentioning.” In addition to that, it enables or disables the receipt of email alerts.
