MemberPress User Roles
You are able to assign different roles to your members based on their Subscription status to your various memberships if you integrate User Roles, which enables site owners to establish specific WordPress user roles on a per-membership basis.
These roles are placed on top of the default role that you configured in your WordPress dashboard under Settings > General. It does not substitute the default role, nor does it replace any additional roles that may be added by other plugins, such as bbPress or WooCommerce.
Depending on the user’s current subscription status to your memberships, this will automatically add new roles to the user’s profile or delete roles from the user’s profile as necessary. In the event that the user does not have any current memberships, their role will automatically be set to the role(s) that you have specified in your WordPress settings, as was discussed above.
What Can I Do With This?
There are many different applications for this. However, the activation of additional features within other plugins based on the user’s role is by far the most frequent scenario. It’s possible, for instance, that you have your forum plugin configured in such a way that it enables users with particular roles to access topic groups to which other users do not have access. Alternately, you might have a plugin for events that enables you to offer members of a particular position a discounted rate when they register for an event. There is an infinite number of applications for this, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with in this regard.
